Place Without Space

I chose to include this paper because it focuses on a church that has place without space. The church is poor and it cannot keep a singular space to hold a church service. Instead they either rent out a different place each week or have church in the park. The paper is about how even without a physical space that all of these people can go back to, they still have a place where they feel comfortable and happy. This paper reminds me to look on the bright side of things. As a global citizen, it is important to remember that.

Language Observation Essay

This paper talks about a field study I did in my SM community. I touches on the use of language and code switching depending on your audience. I chose to include this because It shines a light into how an anthropologist would work. I did not notice just how hard it was to listen to people instead of immediately getting involved. Also, one thing that I focused on in this paper was the difference between how people talked around a person they looked up to end just around people closer to their age that they consider friends. I found a very interesting how most people do not even think about how their language changes depending on who they are around, but everyone does it.

Moana's Hidden Truth

This paper talks about the movie Moana and how the people creating the movie tried to make it as culturally appropriate yet it still failed in many different ways. I chose to include this paper because it highlights Things in popular movies that most people will overlook. I love the movie Moana, but after watching it through the eye of a global citizen, I noticed how it was not that great of the movie. I like that Disney tried to make it more culturally correct, but in the end they were still many things wrong with the film.

Global Brands Paper

I chose to include this Global Brands paper because it showcases how everything is worldwide. In this paper, I wrote about how so many different parts to create a small iPhone that a lot of people take for granted are from all around the world. We do not think about how much a phone travels or any other thing travels before it gets to us, but so much trade and bargaining and making of these things occurs way before we get it.

Applying RUSH to Global Citizenship

I chose to include this paper because it talks about the four pillars of being a saint marker and how that relates to being a good Global citizen. I wrote this paper about the Wayfinders which is a book that we read during our advanced studies in global citizenship course. The paper really dive deep into how that book is not only related to the class but is also related to the world as a whole.
