About This Site
I am a senior at St. Mark's School. This is my Portfolio to demonstrate my work in order to graduate with a Global Diploma this June. It has course work I have completed with a Global Focus, pictures of my trips, and reflections from travel and conferences I have attended over my four years at SM.
About Me
I am a high school senior at St. Mark's School in Southborough, Massachusetts. I have a love for linguistics and global citizenship. I started my journey with being a global citizen at the start of my freshman year at St. Mark’s. I got interested because I talked to some students who were reflecting on their time abroad the summer before. That summer I chose to go on the month long Chile trip with the school to learn Spanish. During that time I learned so much more than just the language. I learned about the culture there, and from that point on I was hooked on being the global citizen that I could possibly be. Since then, I have grown a lot and learned a lot more about what being a true global citizen means. I am now one of the heads of the Global Ambassadors Program at St Mark's School. I hope you enjoy the portfolio.

My Capstone
This was a complicated project for my group to complete because we went into it very headstrong on one topic without truly looking into the issues of this culture. We got a good way through the project before we noticed that we partially skipped over the empathize phase. Once we noticed this, we went back to the Embassy phase and completely changed our project. This was very interesting to me because I thought that I was really looking into the culture when my group chose the topic, but we looked over so much. This project reminded me to truly listen to what people want because even when I think I know what is good for a community or a person, that is not always the case. After we changed our topic, we had a lot of work to do to catch back up to where we were. Another issue with our group was not only finding a time that all of us were free to meet and talk about our work but also get everyone to show up to all of the meetings. We tried to divide the work evenly, but our group had some issues when certain people would choose to not do their part of the work and not show up to meetings. Eventually, we got all of the work done, and I am very proud of our final product.
